Living with Trees: A Unique Interior Design Concept

Creating a Natural Haven in the Heart of the City

The concept of living with trees has been brought to life in a stunning interior design project by Hsin-Hung Wu. This two-floor architecture, located in Taichung City, Taiwan, showcases the beauty and strength of trees, creating a comforting living space that seamlessly blends with nature.

Upon entering the space, visitors are greeted by a ground floor adorned with cement tiles and wooden walls, reminiscent of the idiosyncrasy of trees. The white wall textures serve as a subtle reminder of the brick walls outside the building, creating a harmonious connection between the interior and exterior.

One of the unique features of this design is the use of a tree-body framework on the ground floor. This framework not only adds a touch of liveliness to the space but also serves as a visual representation of the concept of living with trees. It creates a sense of belonging and invites residents and visitors to immerse themselves in a natural environment.

The interior space is carefully curated to evoke a sense of tranquility and harmony. The log table adorned with candles and the cage-style dangling lights add a touch of whimsy, while maintaining a consistent theme with the outdoor natural atmosphere. The trees swaying gently and the sound of birds singing further enhance the feeling of living happily surrounded by a native environment.

On the second floor, the design seamlessly transitions into a space that reflects the beauty of dusk. The smooth traffic flow and the sunset shattering through the leaves create a mesmerizing display of tree shadows dancing elegantly. This narrative, authored by the designer, evokes compassion and tenderness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who experiences it.

This unique interior design project spans across 170 square meters and serves as a selling center. It was completed in March 2016, showcasing the designer's dedication to creating a space that not only captivates but also fulfills the requirements of a functional and innovative design.

The Living with Trees design by Hsin-Hung Wu has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2018. This award is a testament to the design's ability to integrate industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing a fulfilling and positive experience for its users.
